Project Description
When a private college of art, architecture, and engineering raised $2.7 million for a new academic building, they wanted a way to show their gratitude towards those who contributed. Enter the Alumni Roof Terrace located on the eighth floor of the new building. The roof terrace creatively displays the names of significant contributors on the black granite pavers which form the floor of the rooftop terrace. With expansive views of the New York City skyline, the terrace has become a popular gathering space for students and alumni alike.
Creating a roof system that would not damage the underlying roof structure of the new facility was of equal importance as creating an attractive and modern outdoor space. The industrial-grade Bison Versadjust Pedestal System is durable and functional and ensures that the custom pavers and rooftop environment will stand the test of time and honor those who contributed to the college’s legacy.
