Project Description
Bison was proud to donate adjustable Level.It Pedestals and modular Smooth Ipê Wood Tiles used by Virginia Tech students to create outdoor spaces for their solar house project. The award-winning project, LUMENHAUS, is the third solar house designed and built as part of a Virginia Tech research program begun in 2002. An innovative design integrating architecture and technology, the project won the International Solar Decathlon Competition in Madrid, Spain in June of 2010. Then in January 2012, it was announced that the LUMENHAUS had also won a 2012 AIA Honor Award for Architecture. This was the first time this prestigious award had been given to a university team!
